First blog entry, ho!
For too long have I remained mute. Too long have I walked these streets in silence. Too long has the world been spared my commentary. But no more! Today, I regain my voice and make my plans, works and opinions known! Tremble…
Now how’s that for an introduction? Perhaps I went a bit far with the drama, but the jest of it is true. I have blogged in the past and the near-present but those efforts became fruitless due to either outside intervention or simple apathy on my part. I am hopeful this time though, friends have started blogging and my life is getting increasingly more interesting.
So who am I? I’ve been called Paul since birth so that basically means that it is my first name, my surname does not matter at this time. Friends have recently started calling me Polly, an apparent spoonerism of my first name, and it has grown on me so much that I decided to transform it into my new online moniker (know that I was once called “Huricos”). Of course Polly is a bit too common so I created the portmanteau AnthroPolly out of the words “anthropology” (the study of humanity) and “Polly” (me). Google reassured me that it was not taken, so here I am: rebranded and reissued.
So how’s this going to work? Simple! I blog about various things and – if it interests you for whatever reason I cannot begin to understand – you read it. If you comment I will most likely respond and if you have a blog yourself I’ll probably return the favor. It’s quite a simple contract and one that is not based on any sort of lasting commitment. We’ll make a great team you and I, I can feel it in my bones.
So that abruptly concludes this very first blog entry. The next one will probably involve a more serious subject in a pretty similar theme. Id Est Knee-deep in sarcasm, puns and innuendo. For now I’ll leave you with the “signing out” customary by Gabe & Tycho.
